HHS Girls Varsity Runs Best Races at Ed White Warrior Invitational

Despite being down a few runners because of illness, the Hillsboro girls cross country team turned in some great times at last Thursday’s Ed White Warrior Invitational.  Seven girls participated, and six season best times were turned in.

In the varsity division, Anna Crosby led the way with a season best time of 21:13.10.  That placed her ninth in the race.  She said she was pleased with what she had accomplished.  “I think I raced very well and am glad to see that I am still improving and knowing that I still can push myself even harder,” she commented after the race.  “I am hoping to make it to the sectional meet or make a PR sub 21 minutes.”

Michelle Jones came in 19th place with a time of 23:15.20, and Makenzie Allen turned in a season best 23:56.90, good for 27th place.  Briana Langrehr was 30th with her season best time of 24:18.40.

Riley Kruse and Lexi Wallis finished in 88th and 89th place respectively in the Mixed Freshman Boys/Girls race.  Kruse ran a 25:26.13, and Wallis a 25:41.39, both season bests.

Brianna Barton and Mia Phillips ran their best times of the season in the JV race.  Barton finished in 28th place with a time of 25:4590, while Phillips was 49th with a a time of 28:02.60.

The Hawks will be back on a course on Saturday at the Parkway West Dale Shepherd Invitational.
